There is a peculiar place at the intersection of Aimanov and Zhambyl Streets in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Not so long ago, they painted the zebra crossing, which is a really unorthodox one. You know, usually it goes across a street to help pedestrians cross the road. However, creative Kazakh officials made up a new type of zebra crossing, which goes ALONG the street.
Such resourcefulness should have been praised in arts and humanities, for instance. Nevertheless, in a vitally important field of road safety they must strictly follow the rules. In addition to quite frivolous layout of the crossing, they have used rather shabby materials to paint it. Therefore, the zebra will be a nice cash cow, since they are to repaint it over and over again.
