Sometimes, a sincere desire to cordially receive foreigners leads to funny situations. In the former USSR, newly independent states’ people with their predominantly mediocre English inadvertently commit laughable errors from time to time. Here is a visual evidence of another example of such mistakes, made in the field of fast food.
This photo was taken in front of the Kazakh National Agrarian University in December 2014. Obviously, well-meaning entrepreneurs in Almaty must have intended to write “Snacks” on this signboard. However, they unwillingly failed in doing so. You know, Kazakh cuisine has not snakes in its menu.
